Our Talents
The Desert Virtuoso Music Group is a Tucson-based non-profit organization founded by two high school freshmen, Sophie Gao and Melissa Zhang, in April 2022. Our team is comprised of musically-passionate young musicians from K-12 grades across several schools in Tucson. Our group members specialize in a wide range of musical instruments, from the classical Piano, the violin, the Guitar, and the Saxophone to some of the unique Chinese Instruments such as Pipa and Gu Zheng. Our repertoire consists of both classical music, popular music pieces from movie theme songs, and intricate Asian melodies. Music not only plays critical roles in education, entertainment, enrichment, and therapy, but also serves an invaluable vessel for connecting and celebrating our diversity.
